Trumbull Regional Medical Center offering free Colorectal Cancer Screening Kits Throughout the Month of March
In recognition of March being National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Trumbull Regional Medical Center is offering free colorectal cancer screening kits to the public during the month of March.
In the United States colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men and women and is expected to cause over 52,550 deaths in 2023.
Colorectal cancer is preventable with screening tools and treatable especially when caught early.
“It is recommended that regular screening for colorectal cancer begin at age 45 for those at average risk” said Meredythe McNally, MD, board certified Gastroenterologist with Steward Medical Group. “If you have a family history of colorectal cancer you should speak with your physician about when to start screening and what screening methods are right for you” said Dr. McNally.
